 2. Numbers and Operations in Base Ten
Skills in this group include counting to 1,000, skip counting, using <, >, and = to compare numbers, and writing numbers using word form or expanded form.
Problems that test these skills will ask you to show that you understand that a three-digit number is represented by hundreds, tens and ones. You may be asked to add numbers using place value. You may be asked to subtract by regrouping numbers and composing or decomposing numbers. You may also be asked to relate an expression to a model. Other problems may ask you to mentally
add or subtract 10 or 100 from any given number.
3. Measurement and Data
Measuring is a skill we use every day. Problems testing your measurement skills may ask you to measure objects or estimate their size. You may be asked to compare the sizes of two objects, or add or subtract to solve for a missing length.
Some measurement problems will ask you to tell time, or count sums of money. Other problems may ask you to draw a number line, a
